Moderna receive US approval for vaccine against seasonal influenza

Moderna’s new flu vaccine, mFLUSIVA, has been approved in the United States for people aged 50 and over. It’s the first flu vaccine to use mRNA technology, similar to some COVID‑19 vaccines. Studies in thousands of adults aged 50 years and older across 11 countries showed it works well and has a safety profile like other flu vaccines. Moderna expects it to be available in the U.S. for the 2026–2027 flu season.
